Holistic Teaching Advantage

Our whole-student approach pairs high musical standards with compassionate mentorship, helping students build essential life skills alongside technical proficiency.

Confidence & Creativity: Positive, low-pressure instruction encourages students to take creative risks. Through improvisation, songwriting, and student-selected repertoire, learners discover their unique artistic voice and build true self-belief.

Initiative & Perseverance: Mastering the piano teaches students how to break down complex challenges into rewarding, bite-sized goals. By learning to navigate difficult passages, students cultivate a resilient mindset and self-driven focus that serves them for a lifetime.

Whether aiming for a career in music or simply discovering the joy of playing, our students grow into self-assured, creative individuals.

Performance Opportunities

At Plumrose, we believe sharing music with others is one of the most rewarding parts of learning an instrument. We offer students the opportunity to participate in 2–4 annual studio recitals, held in a warm and supportive environment.

Building Confidence: Though participation is entirely optional, recitals are a wonderful way for students to showcase what they have learned throughout the year with family and friends.

Developing Stage Presence: Performing helps students develop invaluable lifelong skills, including poise, self-confidence, musical polish, and showmanship.

In addition to studio recitals, our students also have access to additional performance opportunities, workshops, masterclasses, competitions, and evaluation programs such as Certificate of Merit.

Lesson Increments & Studio Locations

Lessons are available in weekly 30, 45, and 60-minute increments at our studios in the Laurel Heights and Parkside neighborhoods in San Francisco or virtually via Zoom. A bi-weekly (every other week) lesson frequency is also available to adult students ages 18+.
