PPS Preschool Piano Classes

A playful first step into piano for ages 3–5

Give your child a joyful introduction to the piano in a small, supportive group setting.

Designed specifically for preschool-aged children, our 12-week Preschool Piano Class introduces young musicians to the foundations of piano playing through age-appropriate activities, movement, listening, rhythm, and hands-on time at the keyboard.

With a maximum of six students in each class, children individual coaching while enjoying the fun and encouragement of learning alongside their peers.

Winter 2026-2027 Offerings

Winter Trimester

Each class is limited to six students, allowing the teacher to work closely with every child and adapt activities to the needs of the group.

One parent or guardian attends class with each student, giving families the opportunity to participate in the learning process and help reinforce new skills at home.

Dates: November 1st through February 14th

Description:

Students will begin building foundational musical skills, including:

  • Navigating the piano keyboard through pattern recognition

  • Early keyboard technique through healthy movement at the piano.

  • Feeling and performing steady rhythm.

  • Recognize the musical staff and other basic music symbols.

Concepts are introduced gradually and reinforced throughout the session through games, repetition, movement, and playing at the piano.

Program Details

  • Schedule: Classes are offered on Sundays at the following times:

    • 10:10 - 11:00 am

    • 11:15 - 12:05 pm

    • 1:10 - 2:00 pm

    • 2:15 - 3:05 pm

  • Location: Laurel Heights Studio (3557 Geary Blvd., San Francisco)

  • Eligibility: Children ages 3-5

  • Capacity: 4-6 students. Guardian attendance is required.

Registration & Tuition

  • Registration period: September 1st - October 15th Spots are limited!

Tuition: $580/12-week session (includes $480 tuition, $25 registration fee, and $75 materials fee)

Withdrawals and Cancellation Policy:

  • Up to 14 Days Before Session Starts: Full refund minus a $25 non-refundable registration fee.

  • Within 14 Days of Session Start: 50% tuition refund (materials fee will be refunded if physical materials have not yet been distributed).

  • After the Session Begins: Tuition is non-refundable once classes have started. Medical exceptions may be considered with a doctor’s note on a case-by-case basis.
